Medical Interpreters

InDemand’s interpreters exceed Section 1557 of the ACA’s new requirements for “medically qualified interpreters.”

Recruiting Only the Best Interpreters

All quality language access programs start with excellent recruiting. We seek out candidates with proven medical interpreting experience, certification and training. Then we offer competitive pay, a comprehensive benefits package and professional development because we believe the best deserve the best.

We recognize that the skill and dedication of our InDemand Interpreting team is critical to supporting an exceptional experience for your patients and ensuring their safety. InDemand interpreters are focused solely on medical interpretation and are among the most qualified in the industry.

InDemand has unparalleled standards when it comes to our interpreters. All of our interpreters are nationally certified by either the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) or the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) or work to become certified within six months of joining our team. Additionally, 100 percent of our American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters are credentialed by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) , and, on average, have more than 17 years of experience.

Professional Development & Training

InDemand is committed to supporting our interpreters as the best in the field. Our InDemand Interpreting Academy curriculum includes 40 hours of medical interpreting training, professional and linguistic skills rubrics, focused workshops and personalized support. We use professional observations, random testing, manager “one-on-ones,” and peer and customer feedback to support our interpreters as they continue to hone their skills and grow as medical interpreters.

InDemand Interpreting Academy gives interpreters the tools they need to succeed. We are committed to helping our interpreters enhance their skills to support patients in getting the best quality healthcare.

“I was a surgeon in Iraq prior to immigrating to the United States. InDemand has been a perfect fit for me while I work toward getting into a residency program. It has allowed me to stay in the field of healthcare and use my bilingual skills. Plus, the job offers benefits and opportunities for advancement which no other interpreting company was able to offer me.”

Omar Al-Jawhar, MD, Nationally Certified Medical Interpreter (CHI)

Commitment to Deaf Patients

We recognize that the skill and dedication of the InDemand American Sign Language (ASL) team is critical to supporting an exceptional experience for both Deaf and hard of hearing (HOH) patients and their clinicians.

  • All of our interpreters go through a thorough screening process to ensure they meet our high-quality standards before they are hired.

  • 100 percent of our ASL interpreters are credentialed by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and meet state licensure compliance.

  • On average, our ASL interpreters have more than 10 years of experience in a video environment and 17 years experience in medical interpreting.

Certified Deaf Interpreters

To further our commitment of providing the best possible care to Deaf patients, InDemand has added Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs) to better serve our clients, their patients and family members. Our CDIs meet or exceed the same standards as all other ASL interpreters on our team. CDIs enable providers to obtain a more complete picture of a Deaf patient’s healthcare needs and history, while patients gain a deeper understanding of their tailored treatment plan.

Unparalleled Certification Standards

Every member of the InDemand team has a state or national interpreter certification. We require all of our interpreters to complete a rigorous training program. If they are not already, they become nationally certified by either the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) or the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) within six months of joining our team. One-Hundered percent of our American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters are credentialed by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
