For the third consecutive year, InDemand Interpreting, a technology-enabled language services performance improvement company and a leading video remote interpreting (VRI) provider within Healthcare, hosted the VRI services for the Seattle/King County Clinic held at the KeyArena October 27-30, 2016.

The Seattle/King County Clinic offered a full range of free dental, vision and medical care to underserved and vulnerable populations in the region. The effort, involving months of preparation and thousands of healthcare professionals and volunteers, transforms KeyArena into the largest clinic of its kind in Washington State, serving nearly 4,500 patients this year.

InDemand Interpreting provided more than 7,000 minutes of interpretation in 31 languages to clinic participants and supported just over 1,000 total interpreter encounters. The top three languages requested were Spanish, Cantonese and Amharic. In addition to providing immediate interpreting services, InDemand provided wireless network infrastructure throughout KeyArena to support the event.

Using InDemand VRI technology, clinicians and staff at the Seattle/King County Clinic were able to reach medically qualified interpreters via a live, high definition web-based video conference that supports language access across the entire care continuum. InDemand VRI provides clinicians and patients with immediate access to interpreters in more than 200 spoken languages in addition to American Sign Language (ASL).

“We are proud to participate in such an important clinic dedicated to supporting the vulnerable and underserved populations throughout our community for the third consecutive year,” said InDemand Interpreting Chairman and CEO Cecil Kost. “We take pride in ensuring every individual, regardless of language barriers, cultural background or disabilities, receives the highest quality health care.”
