Join us for our webinar on September 30th at 1:00pm EST, 12:00pm CST and 10:00am PST.
The percentage of Americans who speak languages other than English at home is growing dramatically. Today, roughly 21 percent of the population does not speak English at home. It’s estimated that between 12 and 23 million Americans are limited English proficient (LEP) – meaning that they speak English “less than very well.”
In this webinar, we will examine the business, medical, and legal “cases” for why health systems must provide language access to their growing LEP populations. In addition, we will explore how technology can help providers meet their increasing needs.
Critical Measures regularly conducts legal language access audits for leading hospital systems and health plans. These audits compare client’s language access systems, policies and practices against federal and state language access laws and national best practices to identify major issues. In this webinar, David Hunt, Critical Measures’ President and CEO and a former civil rights attorney will discuss the law of language access, language access findings from around the U.S. and tips to improve language access compliance within your organization.
What we will cover:
- Help healthcare providers understand the business, medical and legal case for language access.
- Look at consequences for violations of language access.
- How to build your case for language access within your health system.
- Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) as an accessible, cost effective and scalable tool for medical interpreting.
